HAIL TO THE CHEF SALAD...

You know, chefs are always taking all the credit (actually, they’re being handed it) for making food taste so good. Granted they usually have something to do with it…alright, a lot to do with it, but they have to start with good products to begin with. You know the old saying about not being able to make chicken salad…Mills Family Farms, the IBM of the Salinas Valley Agricultural arena, just nailed down an American Culinary Institute Best of Class Award for its Wholeaves® line of lettuces.

Now this isn’t some PR stunt. This was an independent, seriously conducted blind tasting by American Culinary Institute trained tasters. They beat everybody. Mills Family Farms Wholeaves® are single lettuce leaves that are separated by hand from the core, individually selected, meticulously cleaned and carefully hand packed. They come in Romaine and Hearts, Green Leaf and Red Leaf, Green Cascade Mix® and Celery.
