chiefs

In fact, the vegetable handler is using the change to spread its
wings within its business family. The company announced Feb. 3 the
promotion of longtime employees Steven Davis and Bill Wynne as the
sales managers over iceberg lettuce and mixed vegetables divisions,
respectively.
The two new sales (positions will lend) responsibilities as we go
forward in our new change,2 said James Mills, senior vice president
of Mills Family Farms. 3Both individuals are industry professionals,
with Bill1s 15 years in the business and Steve for 12 years.2
Creating the management position was rooted in the structure of
its sales department. Within Mills Family Farms, sales have tended
to be separated in half roughly between mixed vegetables and iceberg,
Mills said.
Just because one sales manager heads a particular commodity doesn't mean they don't know what is going on in the other category, said Mills. Both programs are intertwined.
They know the lettuce side and the mixed vegetable side,2 Mills
said. Everyone shares the knowledge.
As sales manager, iceberg lettuce, Davis will oversee day-to-day operations and sales of all iceberg products. Wynne, as sales manager of mixed vegetables, will supervise day-to-day production and sales of all mixed vegetables, including the company's signature line of Wholeaves® products. Wynne has worked the last thirteen with Mills, and Davis has been a Mills employee for 12 years. Both employees were formerly salesmen.
